How to Create Ventilation System in the House by Yourself
by Guest Post on Nov 30, 2020
Do I need ventilation in my private home? This question was not so topical until recently. Ecological "breathable materials", wooden windows, natural ventilation through window openings and doors made the house comfortable to live in.
Technologies used in the construction of modern houses, such as the use of plastic for doorways and window openings, chemical fibers for insulation of facades and other materials make the house completely airtight and closed to external air access. You may check this, including basement renovations cost in 2021.
Decide on the creation of ventilation systems is necessary even at the design stage of housing. But not infrequently and situations where the house is already built, and only then there was a need for ventilation. What to do in this case, is it possible to make ventilation yourself?
How to make ventilation with your own hands
Ventilation, forced or natural, creates a special microclimate in the premises, being the key to a comfortable stay. It causes the outflow of old air containing a large amount of carbon dioxide and other impurities harmful to the human body, and the influx of fresh air. In addition, ventilation can solve the problem of high humidity and the associated risk of mold and fungus on the walls of the house.
Ventilation, which will provide comfortable conditions in the house, can be of several types:
- Natural,
- Tech,
- Mixed or combined.
Ventilation with your own hands, schemes
Each type of ventilation has its advantages and disadvantages. For example, if it is a country cottage located outside the city limits, in a place with clean air, it is better to use a natural ventilation system. If it is a city house or apartment, then the forced ventilation will not only inflate the air, but also purify and filter it, which is appropriate in the conditions of urban pollution.
Ventilation in the kitchen with your own hands
When performing ventilation in the kitchen with your own hands, remember that in the hot spot or above the stove is constantly elevated temperature, steam, various odors. Often, in addition to the stove oven works.
Ventilation in the kitchen must be combined with a common hood to prevent the spread of smells to other rooms. Arrangement and installation of the cooker hood in the kitchen has several features:
- It is better to use aluminum for the hood housing.
- The system should always include filters (which should be cleaned at least once every 3 months).
- The use of a fan with adjustable speed modes.
- The extractor duct itself is mounted according to the diagram described above.
Ventilation in the bathroom with your own hands
Bathroom and bathroom are the most problematic places in the house. Elevated humidity, steam, temperature, characteristic odors, microbes and bacteria accumulate in small rooms and pose a threat not only to the person but also to the interior decoration. That is why you will regularly need air duct cleaning in your apartment.
When arranging ventilation in these rooms should make a ventilation shaft overlooking the roof of the building. When installing the structure should be taken into account that the more straightforward will be the shape of the pipe, the more free airflow will move, airing the room.
In the bathroom and bathroom can use natural and forced ventilation. Forced ventilation is more effective.
When installing forced ventilation is recommended to use devices with low noise level (maximum 30 decibels). When installing pipes it is better to use the opposite wall from the door for better traction. The fan power is selected individually depending on the size of the room and the intensity of use.
Installing ventilation with their own hands is quite a time-consuming process that requires preliminary calculations, selection of equipment, pipes, components. However, having studied all the information on the installation of ventilation in the house by their own hands, it is possible to cope with this task.
