The Latest Mailbox Trends

by Guest Post on Jul 7, 2017

The cheery flag of the mailbox is a familiar sight. Most times it brings with it glad tidings- happy news, greeting cards, Christmas wishes. The mailbox doesn’t go out of style; it only evolves to keep up with the times. Indeed from the plain box on a stick they once were, strictly meant only for the business of receiving letters and picking up the post, have changed so much! Even the shape of the mailbox is no longer tunneled.

Here are the latest mailbox trends we are witnessing in the world of the mailbox:

  1. The freestanding mailbox

When you look at this mailbox, it appears space-age. Steel gives it strength and the tunnel shape is now a perfect circle with only a slim slot for the letters. Mounted on a post, it’s striking even from a distance and creates a contemporary note for your home or place of work.

  1. The brass mailbox- QualArc

Intact with the cheery red flag, the brass mailbox adds a burnished touch to your daily life. Copper and heavy gauge brass are crafted into shape by the gifted hands of artisans to create a unique look for your space. QualArc comes in three styles- Antique Hammered Copper, Polished Brass, and Antique Hammered Brass. The hammered look gives it a more rustic, less fashioned look. If you’re worried about a tarnished appearance, don’t be. As long as you don’t live by the seaside, you should be okay. The patina look is just the right thing for an elegant appearance.

  1. Mailbox and newspaper box

This isn’t new- we know that mailboxes have also doubled up as newspaper holders. But the new mailbox design moves away from the ‘stuff everything in one slot’ idea. The post mounted mailbox dominates the overall style and a little lower is a little box for the newspaper. This style is available in fabulous colors from light grey to vibrant purple.

  1. Vintage mailboxes

Vintage is old-style gorgeous and therefore, an everlasting look. Choose between ornate designs of flowers and eagles to wall mount options and heavily embellished pedestals on which to mount the mailbox.  The Ecco 8 Tower mailbox is Victorian in appearance and has motifs on each of its four sides. The satin black or rust finish is sure to polish up even the drabbest sidewalk.

  1. Decorative  wall mount mailbox

A finely chiseled hummingbird, intricate leaves, delicate flowers- imagine any of these patterns on your mailbox and it will make you smile. The aluminum used to make the mailbox makes it rust-free and hassle-free. It’s vertical and so, great for tight spaces. The design is not merely decorative, it’s practical too. In the floral mailbox, the petals are cut out windows and let you see how much mail you’ve received. Form and functionality in one cool design.

  1. Quirky mailboxes

If you want to up your design, go in for some lovely and unusual designs- maybe a bird, a train, or some other mailbox that defines you to a tee.

Choose your mailbox with care and enjoy your letters!
