6 Reasons to Choose a Freestanding Bath
by Newsy Siso on Sep 20, 2015
It’s official – the nights are drawing in and the days are getting shorter and the best thing in the world on a dark night is a hot bath. But is your bathroom up to the task? Is your bathtub the best it can be? If you’ve been reading the design blogs and bathroom articles lately you’ll see one particular bath that adds a touch of luxury to your home – and your bathing experience. The freestanding bath is the ultimate indulgence. Here’s why you need to install one this winter:
1. Larger Room
Because the freestanding bath is surrounded by space around it, and possibly under it too, it gives the illusion of space and makes the bathroom look much grander than it is. If you have a problem with lack of natural light then a freestanding bath is a good solution as you do not make the room look boxier, and instead open it up to the light.
2. Impressive Design
The freestanding tub is impressive, whether you choose a modern, smooth-stone style or something more traditional like a claw-foot freestanding bath. Freestanding baths are naturally elegant and their design lends an attractive edge to your bathroom. If you are remodeling and wondering how to create the right look for the room, consider the range of freestanding tubs on offer and pick one that suits your style.
3. Stunning Centrepiece
There is no doubt that a freestanding bath in the center of the room creates an amazing focal point in the bathroom and elevates the room from functional to stunning. And even if you do not have much space and need to locate the bath in a corner or by the wall, it still draws the eye – and when attention is captured by the sight of the bath, it also draws attention away from the areas of the bathroom that you don’t particularly want on display.
4. Vintage Style
If you love vintage and traditional décor, a traditional claw-foot freestanding bath or an elegant slipper bath is perfect. All too often a bathroom looks too clinical and modern, but with the addition of a vintage bath you can return to the design period that you love. It also lends a touch of nostalgia to the home.
5. Dramatic Impact
On the other hand, if you love minimalist modern design then an oval freestanding tub shaped from stone is perfect. This type of bath rests on a plinth or directly on the floor and it is egg-shaped, or even in the shape of a trough or rectangle. Fit this type of bath if you want an edgy, stylish bathroom that functions well and provides comfort as well as good looks.
6. Luxurious Bathing
And finally, a freestanding tub simply gives you a more luxurious bathing experience. Who doesn’t feel the difference when relaxing in a freestanding tub over a regular bath? For a treat, install one of these tubs in your bathroom and feel like you’re in an exclusive luxury spa.
